I wanted to properly introduce you to our new Professional Service Manager and all around nice guy Beau Blackwell. Truth be told, it’s been a difficult transition stepping away from the service counter after so many years. Having Beau on the service counter has been a gift from god!

Beau has worked at Pacific Motor Service “behind the scenes” for some time now. He worked directly with the technicians as an estimator/ dispatcher learning our systems, policies and procedures. Beau’s background in dedicated customer service and automotive systems gives him a unique perspective. His ability to “speak the language” makes the experience for our customers a lot less stressful. And our customers benefit from his attention to detail and his commitment to customer satisfaction. I couldn’t be more satisfied with Beau and I rest easy at night knowing he’s taking great care of our customers.

Next time you are in Monterey, stop by and say hi to Beau and congratulate him on his success.

I’ve had the good fortune to meet some amazing people during my 30+ years as an employer and Lucky is among the best. Lucky has worked at this shop since 1979. Lucky recalls back then “there were no lifts in the building and the advanced technology of the day was a digital timing light”.

Lucky is one of those people you hope to meet one day; a person of integrity and good character. I’ve known Lucky since 1992 and until recently, did not know the true extent of his skills. I mention skills knowing you are thinking about his skills concerning car mechanics. And yes, he does have great skills in the shop but that’s not what I’m referring to. I’m referring to his sense of honor and duty, his commitment to his faith, his wife and family and the incredible generosity he displays every day he comes to work, ready to slay those nasty problem cars than seem to find their way to our shop. Lucky embraces each day with a commitment to the truth, honesty and professionalism. Sue Anne and I are blessed to have Lucky as an employee and a friend.

One remarkable facet of owning a service shop is I get to meet people  from all [...]]]> We hosted our spring Car Care event yesterday. It was a great time for me, they guys and folks that stopped by for the free inspection. If you’re interested, come by the Pacific Grove shop for a free inspection next Saturday.

One remarkable facet of owning a service shop is I get to meet people  from all walks of life. When Sue and I took over way back when, Dan Albert who was the mayor of Monterey came in for service. Dan shared some words of wisdom that I hold onto. Dans words went something like this: when someone comes into your shop for advice, directions or needing help, remember, at that moment you are the “ambassador” for our city…don’t screw it up. We are all counting on you!

Saturday, I was the ambassador for a few moments with some tourists from Germany. We fed the family some hotdogs and sodas, answered a few questions about getting around the city and sent them on their way. It’s a pleasure to serve the community and I do enjoy my moments as an “ambassador”.
